Level 1.1 Pat the Cat

Directions: Study the Vocabulary Words. It is recommended to use the Cornell Interactive Notebook described in the Free Resources Course.

After you have learned the Vocabulary Words, Read the Story aloud as many times as needed until you:

1. Know the characters.
2. Understand the story details.
3. Can spell the words correctly.
4. Can pronounce the words to the best of your ability.

Level 1.1 – Pat the Cat

Vocabulary: (Pat, red, cat, mat, hat, sat, rat, ran)

Title: Pat the Cat

Pat the cat sat.

He sat on a hat.

The hat was red.

The hat was on the mat.                                                                                                                   

Pat the cat sat on the hat.

He saw a rat.

That cat ran!
